Weird and wondrous is how I would describe Julia Elliot’s Hellions. A collection of short stories that range from science fiction, to fantasy, to realism, the throughline in these stories is how voraciously I read every single one. Mesmerising, unique, and folkloric, Hellions is a captivating journey through the odd and beautiful mind of Julia Elliot, and her mastery of short form storytelling. I loved these bite-sized morsels of the fantastic and bizarre.
