When we’re lucky, there are some books that stay with us long after we’ve finished reading the last page. This was the case for me, after reading The Bog Wife. In this strange and atmospheric ecological occultic family drama, the reader goes through a journey alongside the protagonists. At times bleak, and at others transcendent, The Bog Wife explores family trauma, growth, belief, and the soil composition of our deepest sewn roots. Biting in its exploration of what holds us to our covenants, to what we hold sacred and unbreakable, this book feels like yearning. If you are looking for a thought provoking and unusual read, I could not recommend The Bog Wife more.
