Annie is nine months pregnant, living in Portland, Oregon, and shopping for a crib at Ikea….when “the big one” hits.  As she manages to survive this massive earthquake, she is faced with the daunting task of finding her way through a destroyed city in an attempt to connect with her husband.  Life lessons learned in the course of this one harrowing day, are moving and thought provoking.  And the story offers a fascinating look at how humans survive a crisis.
